S10 manual steering box disassembly, need help!
I started to take apart this steering box to clean it out, put new grease in, and seal it back up again. The problem I have run into is I can't get this front piece off that holds the input shaft?... I've put an extreme amount of breaker bar on it, lube'd it, impact, and tried remove the ring that is around it in the picture (marked by the red arrow). I'm assuming its a locking type nut, but it won't budge either.
Can some please tell me I doing something so I can get this thing apart? I just don't know what else to do. I'm hoping I'm doing something wrong with that ring piece. I've been trying to spin it counter clockwise, tried clockwise and that didn't do anything either
Also if there is a tool to take off that ring I don't have it. I've been trying to remove it by pounding on it with a socket, an extension, and a hammer. Don't be afraid to tell me I'm doing something completely wrong and that I'm an idiot
Thanks!

That's a bearing. It should be a right hand thread and the snap ring will need to be removed. At the top of your box there is a pinhole (probably full of dirt) push through the pin hole to help get the clip out.
