'Coleman Racing' aluminum tie rod sleeves

'Coleman Racing' aluminum tie rod sleeves
I bought a set of CR alum. tie rod sleeves, and as Ive here posted before. They where not taped all the way thru and the tie rods wont go in far enough for proper toe setting.[PLEASE no opinions on alum. VS steel, Ive read em-Ive heard em, that's not the point] After calling and talking to Lary. he suggested cutting the tie rods, He suggested taking the aluminum sleeves to a machine shop and have them tapped out. When I ask if this was a common problem. I never really got answer. My point is, Ive read several threads on here that recommend CR sleeves. My front end is completely rebuilt new and all stock 'except for the sleeves' the Coleman sleeves don't fit and there not standing behind them.." BE CAREFULL" with Coleman Racing.

Their sleeves are not made for any specific application so its not their fault it doesnt work for you, that should be pretty obvious.
Cutting the tie rods a little wont hurt anything, unless you can simply just grind the end down a little like I suggested to you before. The other option would to to eliminate the outer tie rod completely and use a lonfer sleave, I think 9" is the right length, use a 5/8 rod end for the outer and get a bump steer stud and safty washers for the sreering arm. This way you save some more weight, and have bumpsteer adjustment as well.

Finding a left hand tap will not be cheap.
I bought a set of steel sleeves & new Moog tie rods & had the same problem.
It's not the manufacturers fault, when you start modifying things, you have to expect this.
Not sure what the big deal is here.... just cut the tie rods slightly.
A few minutes with a saw & a file to dress the end threads & everything will work fine.
