That is the oem rubber/metal at the front, on the tailshaft.

I have a polyurethane bushing to install and I see that I have to grind rivets to remove the rubber. I'd like to go to a salvageyard to get one to modify rather than to use the one that is on the car.

Re: Are all torque arm mounts the same?

No.

The torque arm is in the shape of a "W"; some the arms of the "W" point toward the trans, some they point away. But if the bushing is getting replaced, that doesn't matter.

Additionally, auto and stick mounts are different. That DOES matter.

While sometimes it's a good idea to get other parts to build on like that, notably front control arms, I think you're outsmarting yourself on this one. Just grind or drill the rivets and move on. It's not a big deal at all.

Re: Are all torque arm mounts the same?

It turns out that it does matter which way the direction is for the W. I have a T5 and found a mount on another manual transmission car but the W is opposite mine. The outer portion which clips in at the bottom and the one bolt at the top is different. There was also a different arrangement of spacers between the bracket and transmission. On mine, the spacers are a part of the bracket. On the salvage yard car, there is some large metal bracket that acts as the spacer.

So, I just modified mine and it's done.
