Loose steering shaft can this join be rebuilt?

Engine: 383 HSR EBL
Transmission: 700R4 - Stage 3 Fixed Pressure
Axle/Gears: GM 3.08 POSI
Loose steering shaft can this join be rebuilt?
I have included this image to help identify the loose joint.
I want to rebuild this shaft if possible, otherwise I could try the jeep swap I have heard of. The joint allows some rotational and up and down motion. I am not sure how tight it is supposed to be, but I suspect I should not be able to cause it to lift at all or rotate by hand.
