Loose feeling floaty steering

After recently getting my 92 GTA aligned on some new tires, I've noticed just how bad the steering feel is when going straight on a flat road. A friend said it was because I had them align it to spec instead of the usual 1.5 degrees of camber I always have. I don't think so....

All of my front suspension is new (within 4K miles) so I'm thinking it must be my actual steering box after 236K miles lol.

I read the rebuild sticky, yeah, no way I'm doing that. I'll just buy a new one for the $300 or whatever.

My question, which one is the best to buy?

Thanks!

Hey, I lived in California City for 23 years!
Anywho,
I been looking at this one. It's the 12.5:1 found in my GTA. It's a re-man, but great raves. I have 192k on mine, original owner. I feel your slop too. I got new tires/front end and said the same thing!

Borgeson 800209 Power Steering Box, Delphi 600, 12.7:1 Ratio, 3/4"-30 Spline
Around $350

Haha, cool, I ride out there on my Ducati all the time.

When I Google that thing I can't find one for less than $550. Where are you finding it for so much less at?

Re: Loose feeling floaty steering

Well that new box was too rich for my blood. I ended up getting this exact unit:

It'll be a couple months until I get it installed though and I will be keeping my core. I keep all my original stuff for the future, water pump, starter, etc.

Rockauto stocks many as well. Not sure if they have the one you need though, how can you tell?
