DIY panhard

My panhard is tweaked on the left end, someone trying to tow the car from being stuck, probably.
I know there are aftermarket tubular adjustables available, with choice of rod ends: Heim joints or poly-bushed.
I'm going to leave the right end alone for now, do a spherical rod end on the left, box the thing, then worry about a poly bushing later.
This is mostly a test if it can be done by just anyone, and if it can be affordable. Pics tomorrow.

Re: DIY panhard

Thought of doing exactly that but still learning to weld so wouldn't trust my work. Where did you get the adjustable end?

Exactly. No concern about strength, but it needs to be sleeved to match the bolt, or drill the bracket for a larger bolt. Haven't decided yet.

Re: DIY panhard

I could be mistaken, but I'm thinking I should turn this thing around. Should transfer several ounces from unsprung to sprung. Maybe not enough to make any real difference. Can't hurt to try.

Re: DIY panhard

i boxed mine years ago with some bedframe angle that i found in the trash. i just stitch welded it here and there cause i didnt want to warp it too bad. i like your idea with the rod end.

Re: DIY panhard

Thanks!
I'm thinking a little boxing of the cross brace right above it can't hurt, shouldn't add more than a pound.
