replaced springs; now rear sits to high. fixable?

I just replaced my springs with MOOG oem replacement springs (1991 Z28). Now the rear sits about 1.5" too high. Looks stupid. I really don't want to lower the car. Is it possible to somehow lower the rear to get an even ride height? (local spring/suspension shop said there was nothing they could do and that cutting the spring was not an option).
Is there a way to keep these springs and fix this?

Cut the springs with a cutoff wheel. Take out 1/2 a coil at a time until you get the ride height you want.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere

Better option would be, replace the equally sagging, collapsed, wore-out fronts, to restore the original ride height at both ends of the car.

Here's what the car is SUPPOSED to look like; IOW, what they looked like brand-new.

Clearly, most of these cars today, need springs pretty bad.

sofakingdom... I agree. and those pics are cool. I am going for the factory ride height.

Alky....are you sure I can cut them? I have seen on here where people have done it; some say don't. But it concerned me when our local suspension shop said they could not cut them..... any idea what the problem could be with cutting them? I like the idea and it makes sense...I just wanna know why some say it cannot be done correctly.

All springs can be cut to achieve the desired ride height if too high. You need to cut small pieces off. 1/4 to 1/2 a coil at a time can make a big difference in the ride height.

You need to cut them with a cutoff wheel. Cutting them with a torch is a big no-no. The heat from the torch will change the temper.

the car will set different for awhile expecialy if you only changed the rear. the springs need time to settle in. i combined the old springs from my car with some i found in my grandpa's garage. the car set funky for a couple of weeks and looked kinda stupid but it eventuly settled in and looks/rides just fine. you might just have to wait
