Heidts and Alstons
I first purchased the outer SFCs from Heidts, then a week later the inner SFCs (Alstons) also from Heidts. Both are bolt-on, and I had the intention of bolting them in and then next year possibly welding them. I got the car about 23" of the ground with redundant support: jack stands and cribbing. (All because a buddy died via a car dropping on him a few years back, and the incessant nagging by my older son and wife.)
I'll cut the post short and say that I decided that, instead of bolting them in and drilling into the floor board for the outers, I would just take them to a shop to get them welded. I did do a lot of the prep work under the car.
The ride is so much better, as everyone said it would be. Why didn't I do this 28 years ago when I bought the car?

Re: Heidts and Alstons
Very nice! Did you have them stitch welded on the outters or just the main points?

Re: Heidts and Alstons
Just the ends are fully welded. I took it to www.big3racing.net and they said that they highly recommend NOT stitch welding along the rocker seem, which I had ask them to do. They reworked the exhaust around the cat to make enough room for the inner on that side.
It's a world of improvement. Not something that I could just bolt in, and not in the "four hours" as each set's instructions indicated.

Re: Heidts and Alstons
I'm guessing the outers stop before they get to the torque boxes in the front for the bolt on applications?
Welding to the rocker pinch weld is a good thing. May be harder with round tubing instead of the rectangle stuff.
The subframes are a huge improvement on these cars.
