squeeling noise?

this morning, as i left my driveway a noticed a squeeling noise coming from my car...upon further inspection, i noticed that when i step on the brakes the noise disappears...and if i let go, the noise comes back again. Eventually it disappeared but later sounded again, Is it time to get my brake pads checked? It's been a couple of years since its been done.

Your brake pads are probably wearing out. If you remove the tire and look at the pad you should see a metal tab sticking out toward the rotor. The squealing sound you hear is probably this tab hitting the rotor, which is a warning to get the pads replaced.
