4th Gen rear swap question regarding E-brake cables
I am purchasing a 1991 RS with 4th Gen rear in it. I swapped a 4th gen rear into my 88 IROC, but I don't remember the solution I used for ebrake cables. Can you use stock ebrake cables, or re-use 4th gen cables? (this doesn't come with either, so I'll have to source some).

Re: 4th Gen rear swap question regarding E-brake cables
I used 4th gen ones on my '88 then made 2 about 10" long extensions to reach the center cable

use 92 z cables with disc brakes, they offer two different lengths! Forget the #'s but it's the shorter one! 1456cm or something like that! Have a 2k axle in mine! Love it!!

Good to know. Would be nice to have an e brake again myself. Maybe somebody can chime in the exact length cables needed.

I purchased some Cables that I believe are the correct cables. I'll be installing them this weekend.

Re: 4th Gen rear swap question regarding E-brake cables
Ok the cables I got were too long, The Covered portion was ok. I had to modify the Caliper end of the cable so that it would slip over the lever arm, and then I had to put new cable stops on the other end so that it would engage the equalizer at the right point. I may need to put a better stop in when I find one, but they are working currently.

1989 Firebird Formule 350 with a 10-bolt rear end out of a 99 Camaro SS.
I used two "Tru-Torque #C94597" e-brake cables, ordered through my local Advanced Auto. The only alterations I had to do was simple stuff. Took a Dremel and widened out of the little bracket that connects to the rear brake "hook" (you'll see what I'm talking about upon closer inspection. Really not a tough thing to replace, just takes a small amount of patience.
They are functional now, but my only complaint is that you really have to pull the ebrake handle up a LOT to get them to engage. I'm sure I can adjust that a little bit by rigging up the cable a bit, but I'm not too worried about it because they still engage (plus it's an automatic).

Wickydooda, yea I pretty much have the same situation with mine, though I cut the ends off and put some new ends on but did not secure them enough so I'm going to have to re-do it. I also had to widen the bracket with my dremel. Sounds like I'm running into the same stuff as everyone else =)

Let us know how they work out. I bought the hawks cables a few years ago and never could get them installed as they appeared to short.
