Subframe connectors
Hey guys I am here again with another question and that's which Subframe connectors should I get? I can get my car to a shop so welding isn't an issue. Just which ones do I need? The car is stock and I was looking at them, but I am unsure which ones I need. Also I really do not want to take off the exhaust as I just installed it new only a few months ago.

Re: Subframe connectors
Check the ones from Topdown Solutions. I just installed these and love them. Have to get them welded still but even just bolted in the difference is night and day. Chances are they ill have to move your exhaust to install these but it's not a big deal.

That's a bit like asking what religion should you be.
Many have opinions, for the most part it's hard to convince them otherwise and very little of that is based on hard facts. Search this forum to see some of the previous arguments about this.

How crazy do you want to get? I think the Detroit Speed setup has no equal.
Re: Subframe connectors
Biggest issue I see from one brand to another is clearance. Depending how the car is setup now, and future modifications, some designs won't fit. Plan accordingly.

Re: Subframe connectors
I have the Detroit Speed set sitting in the garage, and they are very robust. I have the steering column out right now because of the loose tilt mechanism, but hopefully soon they will be going in.

Re: Subframe connectors
As long as you weld them front, back and along the sides any brand you get will do just fine. I'd put in a six point cage before I bought and installed the DSE subframe connectors. Way too much cutting and install work. If they took the time to show the strength of a stock hardtop, hardtop with regular subframe connectors and hardtop with theirs it could help to sway members, but chances are they wont.

Re: Subframe connectors
I like my UMI's. I would have got something more serious now that my exhaust is run down the center of my car but I wasn't on this site back then and didn't even know what was available back then. But these should be real strong and go on without removing the exhaust because the part that goes over the pipe is put on separately.
