Well im torn between two options right now. I have an 89RS with a 305 thats goin on 130K miles. I could prolly get 2000 for it, but Ive been toying with an idea. I have about 1500 to play with, and Ive thought about building up the car slowly. Right now I dont have enough money to buy an engine and transmission I would be happy with, so I was thinking about chassis. I can just drive the 305 until I blow the badboy. I figure I could buy a damn nice suspension setup with this. What would be the ideal setup? Also is it true that a ford 9" is a bolt in?
Prices along side of parts would be helpful, help me spend my money!
I want to do everything right the first time here, I dont want to install Mr. Shox brand parts and have the handling of a caddy!

You can get a nine inch MADE to bolt in, but there goes your whole $1500.
Your ideal suspension depends on what you intend to use it for...drag racing requires a very different set up from road racing...

Yeah, it all depends on what you want the car to do and how extreme you want go with it.
My suspension works pretty well and I was well within your budget. My preference is a road race set-up but this stuff overlaps for drag racing.
Here's what I've got so far:
SSPE Adjustable Panhard Bar
SSPE Adjustable LCA's (poly/rod end combo)
SSPE Adjustable Torque Arm
Jamex Sport Springs (lowered car 1.5" to 2")
Poly bushings throughout the car
Waiting to go on is a set of SSPE sub-frame connectors and possibly a set of Baer Bump Steer Eliminating tie-rod ends.

.. they're right about determining how you want to use the car.
Looks, street racing, drag racing (track), road racing (track), canyon carving on Saturdays, ..............
For all 'round fun, make sure your front suspension is in good order. If not, for about 250 bucks, PST has a decent re-build kit, complete.
Then go to Ground Control for some ride height adjusters, springs and shocks. You could dump another 5 or 600 bucks here.
You got SFC's and poly bushings everywhere else, so get a set of rear gears and a complete brake rebuild with the rest of your $$$.
This will atleast keep you going until you can do an engine........ or
save what you got until you've doubled it and really go for it.
Remember: Speed = Money. How fast do you want to spend it?
