Spohn tubular lower A-Arms with coil spring mounts
Hello Everyone...
Ive been reading many posts in regards to the Spohn front lower A-Arms. Most posts are very dated with negative opinions. I'm looking into options with replacing my front A-Arms and wondering if anyone has installed the A-Arms currently being offered by Spohn on their website. They appear to be an improved/updated version. They are listed as SKU #782-F and currently on sale this week.
Any feedback would greatly be appreciated. I'm installing them on a stock 1989 Pontiac firebird formula 350.
Cheers.

I don't know anyone with the new style ones yet. However, UMI sells a great set of a arms that fit great and they are also on sale this week.

I have them. They are well built. BUT they have this stupid inner spring ring that holds the spring that really limits springs you can use. You have to cut them out, to really use them. They also lower your car a bit with oem ws6 springs. My tires rub too. I have new tires so maybe that is the problem. Overall go UMI. Wish I did.

Thanks for the feedback. The YouTube video online looks great but I'm going pass on buying them. Seems like there are few dated posts with the same issues you stated. I have Eibach coils and don't want to risk fitment issues and the car being too low.

I have spohn tubular control arms with bmr springs. Didn't have to change anything to get everything lined up.

I did the drop on stages. I first did the lowering springs from BMR. Then added the tubular control arms. I would say that the ones from spohn did lower the car slightly more. Almost a half inch more from my eye. Not inch and a half. It's inch and a quarter drop springs.
Stock ride height
1.5" drop springs from BMR with tubular control arms from spohn front and rear.
1.5" drop springs from BMR with tubular control arms from spohn front and rear.

Call them by phone and they are having a clearance on the a arms from BMR for 300ish. Saved myself money by luck. This was about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully it helps.

Checkout the recent post i made about a drop issue though. May have to use a differeny set of front springs to even out the stance of the car. Front did drop an inch more in front:/

Years ago when we designed the UMI arms we had Eibach's we were trying. Eibach using a slightly larger wire that still works just fine in stock but doesn't always work with aftermarket arms. They will fit with the UMI lower a-arms.
