Replaced Steering Box Now Steering Wheel is Crooked
I just replaced the steering gear and now my steering wheel is crooked.
The front wheels were on a ramp. The wheels and the steering wheel were straight. I pulled the pitman arm from the box and left it connected to the center link.
The connection between the steering box and steering shaft has a flat, so it should only go back on the same way, right?
Nothing else moved, so I guess its the connection between the box and pitman arm.
Would the best way to re-align be: Lift the front end with the wheels hanging, pull the pitman arm from the steering box, align the wheels and steering wheel, and put it back together?
I'm only uncertain because I've seen other posts about not messing with the steering wheel for alignment (turn signals, wheel lock, etc...)

Re: Replaced Steering Box Now Steering Wheel is Crooked
That is normal. Just need to set the toe to/and square up the steering wheel. This is done with the steering wheel locked in the 12 o'clock orientation, and then setting the front tires to also be straight ahead.
The adjustment is done via the tie-rods.
