Convertable Rattles
Convertable Rattles
Could someone tell me how to get rid of some of the rattles coming from the top....also I am gonna replace it in the spring....could someone tell me how much they spent to have this done.
Damn, I was really hoping someone would answer this one.
There's a member who's name escapes me, that really knows his stuff. He sent me a scan on how to adjust the convertible top. Mine squeaks a lot too. I'm gonna fix it this spring with a louder stereo. Seriously though, the stereo will probably make it rattle and squeak more. I'd post on the body interior board, and I'm sure he'll help you out. HTH

I have this condition on occasion as well. I am looking into replacing all the plastic bushings in the top mechanism. I suspect that is the source of the rattles. This is step 2 of creating top repair kits. Step one is done. I made new "Flip rods" for the 89-92 convertibles. These rods attach to the frame and flip the #2 bow up as you lower the top. They come stock on 89-92 tops, but often break or bend if the top isn't lowered correctly (by failing to lower the windows a bit first). I can e-mail anyone an instruction sheet for these I created if interested. Lon
