Get the part number from somebody on here that knows, or go to your local dealership and get it. GM still sells, them, they are cheap new.

Your car should have had it from the factory, all IROCs had it.

Here is a help. I didn't check to see if that part number is right, but you can go to www.gmpartsdirect.com and make sure.

This may be a stupid question, but regardless here it is> what is a wonderbar. From some of the postings here I can sort of conclude that it is some sort of suspension mod, a) what does it do b) how much are they and c) how hard are they to install?

Thanks

I've got an IROC-Z and my IROC doesn't have one on it. Cause I took mine off, hehe. Someone could have done the same thing to his car.

look above the front sway bar, should be a "bar" that connects the frame rails together. It just stiffens the front end.

just for kicks, here is the simple install instruction site that I used. I put it on last Monday, in about 30 minutes total. The longest part was looking for the right socket. Be advised, I had to use the wonderbar to break the bolts loose first, they were on there really tight. I did it in the parking lot. I just crawled under it with all four wheels on the ground.

You want the suspension to be loaded when you tight down the bolts, right???? is it supposed to be loaded or not?

sethirdgen tech article on the wonderbar

Later,
Jesse

Good news and bad news. Good news; your Iroc should have come with a Steering brace AKA "Wonder Bar". The p/n "was": 14079634. The Bad news; GM discontinued it. Good news; the bar is still available used from a junkyard or Pick-A-Part for very cheap. Since it is essentially a non-wear item, one from a junkyard is just as good as if you bought one new. More good news; I've designed a version of my own and will have it available soon.
