Air ride cargo/spare tire area setup
Air ride cargo/spare tire area setup
Does anyone have pics of their air ride setup in the spare tire area or the deep well section? If so, what size tank are you using? Is anyone running two small tanks (2.5 or 3 gallon)?
I have a 4 gallon tank but it's too long at 25" to fit in either area. I've thought about putting the tank higher up in the spare tire area but I don't like the idea of having the compressor below it. I've heard of water traveling back down the leader line and blowing the fuse on the compressor. I know the manifold shouldn't be below tank level.
I've thought about getting two 2.5 gallon tanks and placing one in the spare tire are and the other in the cargo well area.
I don't want to put the 4 gallon tank on a board across the ledge because I plan on putting subwoofers in the car later on. If I put it on the ledge then the only way for me to put subs in is to invert the subs.

Re: Air ride cargo/spare tire area setup
I have my compressors and the valve body in the spare tire area but my tank (it's a 5 gallon) i had no choice to put in the foot well since there's no way I could fit it in either the spare tire or storage box areas in on the sides. my subs are in a box in the back-seat area with the seat folded down. No one sits in the back seat anyway.

I didn't think you could fit a 5 gallon there. Looking at your pic I would still be able to fit subwoofers on a board across the back even with a tank at the bottom. I guess I'll shove my 4 gallon down there at the bottom and use the face ports. Did you drill a hole at the bottom of the floor for the drain?
I ended up getting the Air Lift Performance 3P setup. I'll debate on adding the height sensors later on their Black Friday sale. I think it's 20-25% off. I don't really carry any passengers in the rear or anything else that adds weight.

I didn't drill a hole but I do have a butterfly valve w/ a handle at the bottom to drain. It doesn't need draining that often so when i do I just wipe up the condensation after blow off and i'm usually good.
Mine's all manual, no height sensors... yet. I've been debating going digital so I can set specific height settings (parked, ride, full up, etc.) but haven't found the "need" to justify the cost yet.
