Ride quality
I love the way my looks right now but with the current setup I'm really unhappy with the ride quality to the point it makes me now want drive it. Right now the car is sitting a set of 18"s 245/40s in the front and 275/40s in the rear. I has eibach sportslines with half a coil cut off the front and Bilstein shock/struts.
My intentions with car are to go on more curise and just be able to drive it with being bounced all over. I only plan on taking to the strip once in a while so performance is that important to me any more. I was thinking of going back to stock springs and 16" wheels.
I know this will help but the question is how much? Is once thing better to try first instead of both at once?

Re: Ride quality
These cars were not made for a luxury type ride, I recall when I bought my -kids now-'89 IROC, every pebble in the road could be felt.
Maybe switch to a different tire/wheel combo that mimics a passenger car and have your 3rdgen look like poo?

Re: Ride quality
"Bounce" is a function of the shock. How quickly/jarringly the suspension is returned to ride height after the shocks do their thing. Springs determine the ride height. Shocks, a simplified explanation, are a timing device. So "bounce" is a function of the shocks ability to return to ride height in time.
Many more variables, but that is the skinny explanation.
You've cut a half a coil off the Sportlines - who knows what that means, quantitatively. You're on 18/40's which is not necessarily bad, but problematic, if you don't have a knowledgeable/systemic approach - who knows what else you've changed. You've made decisions according to a 'look,' but now don't like the ride quality.
'Bounce' is a function of the shock/strut. Learn/search/knowledge will lead you to the solution.
Good Luck
