Really loose steering

I recently replaced my steering shaft with a new astro van shaft due to a dead spot in my steering but I cant help to notice that now my steering feels really lose and there is an odd noise every time i turn my wheel all the way left or right. I've had the front steering components replaced less than a month ago and gotten an alignment. I'm completely stumped as to whats causing this.

Re: Really loose steering

Steering gear box? I know when I did one of those shafts, I found my steering was the same way, so I bought one of Detroit Speed shafts, problem was still there, turns out the shaft being a direct connection without the rag joint will enhance any sounds and feeling you get through your steering column. Though the Detroit Speed shaft is expensive, there is no comparison with the Jeep or Astro shafts, much better unit all the way around. Check with powersteering.com for box rebuild, they are very good at what they do.
