My new video dropping 6am eastern covers installing PENSKE 8300 rear coilovers
ALSO applies to ANY coil-over kit budget to hardcore
these are double adjustable (low speed Bump/compression) and have remote canisters.
these may seem overkill for a Turd gen, BUT will interest those why are chasing that 0.01 second when Autocross and road racing
these are a Custom valved set from Unbalanced Engineering specifically for autocross.
video covers the install and mounts
obviously the 8300 have a HUGE increase in rear grip compared to Koni Yellow and weight jacks
overall weight savings is about 20lbs, almost 100% unsung
I'm running these with 7in long 400Lb 2.25in coilover spring
I've killed 2 Sets of rear Koni yellows, so these will be a much needed upgrade
the increase in rear grip is insane, i can dip int the throttle so early and the axle doesn't get upset over any bump.
and my home Autocross courses are VERY bumpy.
funny enough, the rear grips so well, i can even have a bit of understeer just because the rear is gripping so well.
and better yet, they ride nicer than the Koni yellows
these 8300 have about 30% more compression force than the Koni yellow rear shocks, and about the same rebound PENSKE 8300 Double adjustable with remote res upper Founders coilover mount installed at full droop custom 316 stainless rod end spacers machined by a friend mount allows access to the compression sweep maxed out on bump stops, still has travel left remote canister mounted to the pan-hard Support bar. routing the remote res lines away from the axle 3d printed lower mount prototypes the Founder's lower mount (left) didn't work, so i designed my own (right) Shock bag t protect the coilover shaft and seals. 100% necessary as rocks and dirt will damage the seals re-routed PTFE stainless braided brake line
Those are 7in long 2.25in Landrum springs, but after taking to some experienced racers: I should have gotten the Hyperco springs
the Hyperco springs are a bit more linear across their travel range.
Yes, I was a bit surprised not to see them on those Penske's.
I've used the landrum Springs before. They come with spring Dyno plots, so they're not low end springs by any means; but probably not quite as good as the Hyperco.
