Wheel Help NEEDED !!!
Wheel Help NEEDED !!!
I have a 91 Formula that has the stock rims on it. I ordered a new set of the GTA style rims in black ( can't wait to get them ), my question is two fold, what is the biggest tire you can put on the rear, 315 maybe, and the guy at the dealer said their is front and rear rims, what the difference, is there additional parts i'll need to make these work ??? i have been reading something about spacers, what are these , and fo I need them for these rims.
thanks for all the help
thanks for all the help
Your factory wheels should have a different offset. This means your front and rear wheels don't have the same backspacing. The wheels you ordered should fit just like the wheels you have now. The front wheels will be labeled front, somewhere under the center cap. The front wheels won't fit on the rear so you don't have much to worry about. This is if the wheels you ordered are the ones with the offset. If the new wheels are 4th gen then you will have to get adapters or put in a fourth gen rear and just get adapters for the front.

Assuming you are getting the normal 16x8's, you won't fit a 315 on those wheels. Probably a 255/50. The wheels marked front will fit on the rear--you can use a set of all front wheels. The wheels marked rear will only fit on the rear--the wheel hits the tie-rod if you put it on the front. No additional spacers or parts are needed.

Not that anyone would be motivated to do this, but when I tried to put my 'rear' wheels on the front, they lock up on the caliper. I wonder if aftermarket front brakes have this problem. When I printed out the Baer templates for 12" fronts, there wasn't a clearance problem with using the rear wheels on the front.
