UMI Panhard Relocation Kit Install
To anyone that installed this in their garage, how in the f*** did you get it done? I can't get the car to stay still with just the rear jacked up and the nose is so long my jack doesn't reach to the k member in the front, so I can't get the car level. How did you guys get the rear in the air without a lift and leaving the suspension unloaded for the install? I am using proper jackstand locations on the rear framerails, but the car is just sliding forwards.

Block the wheels so it doesn't roll. Jack up the rear of the car by the center of the differential, put jackstands under the axle tubes.
Install new parts.
If the body and axle move side to side, you can use a ratchet strap across the vehicle to pull things into alignment if needed.

I'd put jacks under the frame (in front of the rear wheels) to support the car, then use the jack under the differential to raise and lower as needed.

Re: UMI Panhard Relocation Kit Install
That's what I did, unfortunately due to my undercoating, the car rolled forwards with the jack stands sliding along the rear subframe. Incredibly dangerous, and I can't do it on the axle as it has to be unloaded to do the installation.

Easiest way to raise the front is drive up on ramps. Then level it out on jack stands located forward of rear control arm mounts.

FYI - This is going to be a multi-day job. You will need a grinder to reshape the upper brackets to fit your car, and then prime and re-paint. Put the car somewhere where it can sit for days.

Re: UMI Panhard Relocation Kit Install
What I typically do is use one jack on the forward part of my SFC to lift the car just enough to slide my other (low profile) jack up under the K-member. Then raise the front with the second jack until I can fit the jack stands. Then repeat on the rear.
Also, any time I'm only lifting the rear I absolutely have the front wheels chocked. That's just basic safety.

You could also take an incremental approach and lift a corner, shim underneath the tire with a board or two, and eventually your jack should fit wherever it needs to be to get your jackstands where they need to be.

I come in at a 45 degree angle in the center of the k-member and lift until it unloads the suspension a little and I can rotate the jack underneath the front airdam so it's all centered up if I'm on a flat surface.

Re: UMI Panhard Relocation Kit Install
Or is something else being done here that I'm missing? The pa hard relocation kit.is just a new upper bar and brackets for the passengerside mount, nothing about this requires raising the front of the car.

Why does it need to be unloaded?
