Recommend suspension Upgrade

For a 1987 IROC. I would like to keep everything stock as far as height is concerned. Just need a better ride quality.

I did a search but the results were old. Part #s would be great because I dont know the length and specs.

Re: Recommend suspension Upgrade

Are you looking for OEM replacement or performance upgrade? Start by replacing anything that's worn out, bushings, end links etc.

Agreed, what are you looking for? Just back to stock, or upgrade?

If you're looking for stock right height and a little tighter/firmer than stock, poly bushings and new shocks/struts will do it. I really like Bilstein shocks, but they are no longer available for the front. KYB's are good, but will generally feel similar to stock. If you're looking for a more performance/firmer shock, Koni's are also a good option.

If your ball joints, steering components and strut mounts are worn, replace those too.

Re: Recommend suspension Upgrade

Start simple cheeeeeep and eeeeeeezzzzy.

Replace all your sway bar soft parts. Bushings and end links. Get poly; ES, Prothane, etc. You can get em from board sponsors, Summit/Jegs, your local speed shop, sometimes even the corner parts store.

Your end links need to be probably 2¼" or 2½", measured how they usually are (the spacer in the middle). You'll need to measure your bar dia with calipers. Measure right next to the existing bushings. Get the next lower size than what you measure. Such as this complete POS https://www.homedepot.com/p/WEN-6-1-...0761/306638595 but entirely adequate to the task at hand. You can find other similar things at Horror Fright, Northern Tool, etc. Why hell, you might even find other uses for em somewhere on down the road, ya never know.

Re: Recommend suspension Upgrade

Thanks everyone,
Not looking for performance. On my 89 I had replaced them with KYB and liked the ride. I ordered the KYBs, I will replace the bushings and links as well.
