Couple Spohn torque arm questions....

I am installing my adjustable torque arm. I have a few questions. Do the torque arms come from Spohn already set at zero degrees? Also, when I set my angle finder on the torque arm, it will read like 1/2 degree. When I turn it around 180 degrees, but in the exact same location, it reads like 3 degrees. WTF??? Also, could someone explain briefly the idea of having an adjustable torque arm. I forgot if you want the pinion to be higher on the front side of car or higher on the rear side. Thanks in advance.

You want the yoke pointing slightly downward, with a total pinion angle of about 4° (or whatever Spohn is recommending for use with his products).
