Need some help with some noises I'm having

I can't figure it out, I keep trying, but to no avail. I'm trying to figure out what the creaking and poping sound is when I turn the steering wheel, it sounds like its coming from the front steering assembely, but I can't locate it. The Chasis also seems to make creaking noises as well. I'm ordering Spohn SFC's so hopefully It will be braced pretty well, but after that I need to know what it is that I need to fix or weld, or where my problem may be.

ThanX

Adam

The easiest way is toput the car up on jack stands, with them paced as close to the ball joints as possible. That will probably end up being under the spring. Grasp the wheel at 6 and 12 o'clock and try to move it as hard as you can. If there is play it can only be ball joints, control arm bushings, or wheel bearings. Then do 3 and 9 o'clock, if it's loose feeling, It's steering related, such as the idler arm pitman arm, center link, or inner and outer tie rod ends. Hope this helps.

is it a completely stock setup, besides the struts? and did it occur before or after the replacement?

Its ALWAYS made noises..... Though now I have the interior removed and plan to start tightening EVERYTHING and also lay down some sound deadening material. The doors make the most noise.... and I can remember a long time ago before I had started doing ANYTHING, that these Rubber things will some type of threads on them fell out.... or rather poped out when I rolled the window up, I imagine that has somthing to do with it.... Well, we'll just have to see.

Oh yeah, how solid should the body feel when going over bumps/speed bumps/backing out of my driveway? What I mean is, should the body twist or anything?

Oh yeah, what are some common places for people to get cracks in the frame??

...cracks in the frame at the steering box mounting location are common.

The whole car will creak without someting to stiffen it with, such as SFC's or a 8 point rollcage.

Replace the pin hinges on the doors, I believe that there is a tech article here on that.
