I don't really get whats the big deal about group purchases... if somebody can get a better deal, I mean why not go for it?
the moderators here are respectable people, or atleast should be... the removal of group purchase posts doesn't help any though...
Why should it be a big deal if all it does is help the members of the board?
I don't think just because some people can get better deals for everyone doesn't mean somebody has to be greedy and just up and delete the posts...
Not everyone can afford some GPs, but can afford the others since they're a bit lower of a price... and I thought that was what would count in the long run...
Maybe not though... its been kind of being pushed lately...

I just don't understand why things have disappeared suddenly.
The exclusive purchasing agreement is something I don't agree with. Some of us are living very much on the cheap, and need to find things as affordable as possible.
I'm being screwed over by my current employer, so I'm trying to build my car for as little as possible.... I want to see as many options as I can see.
Unfortunately, I don't see that right now. As a result, I may end up having to fab my own stuff to cut costs.

I believe the rules here are pretty much the same as on all the major boards. If a sponsor carries the product, the GP must be run through them. If a sponsor does not carry the product, ask Dirk and I'm sure he'll okay it.
Why you ask? Well, put yourself in a sponsor's shoes. Why should Thunder Racing pay good money to advertise here if another company can run a Baer GP on here and not pay a dime?
Remember, Thunder, Thirdgenparts, Hawks, myself, etc are the ones paying for the costs to keep this site running. This site does over 200 gigs of bandwidth a month, the hosting bill alone could make a new car payment each month.
Support your sponsors and they'll continue to support this site. I'm sure Thunder would be more then willing to run a Baer GP for you guys, just ask them.

I agree with Robertg. I'm trying to do everything as cheaply as possible for my car as well. And because of that, I'm going to close thirdgen.org down because its monthly traffic bill is cutting into my mod money. I'd rather take the money used to run this site and put it into my car.
NOTE SARCASM ABOVE
Do you see our point of view? If we allow just anyone to post a group purchase through a vendor who is not a paying advertiser, our PAYING ADVERTISERS walk away because they have no reason to pay. When the paying advertisers leave, more of my mod money is taken. That's when the administrators walk away from the site, pulling the plug as they go.
There's no such thing as a free lunch. The administrators pay to run this site, advertisers pay to drive our traffic to their business, and you, the users, buy stuff from the advertisers to keep the advertisers coming to us. If any part of that chain is broken, then everyone loses.
