Roll Bar Question
Roll Bar Question
I bought a S&W 8 point roll bar several months ago. I didn't install it mainly because of the time involved in the installation. I did however a couple weeks ago get the parts into the car to see how it would go in...I can't figure it out...(i understand all of it but the side bars that are next to the doors). The instructions say to place them so that they cross the driver between the shoulder and elbow and I just dont think that its possible with my door panels...and yes I did get the option for the 82-92 door panels. Does anyone have any pictures of a roll cage setup in a car with the door panels? Do they go above the arm rest or below. I know this questions sounds stupid but I had to ask anyway. Some guy in the body and interior board has one but he custom installed it so that it would be way down at the floor which is not NHRA legal. Any help would be appreciated.
i Got an 8 point roll cage in my GTA
BUT I didnt go the full NHRA legal way. The back is like the instatructions. but my door bars are about 1 foot off the floor. SO the doors close normaly and u just have tio lift yur butt an inch more then before when you get in the car. I tried for days to figure the best angle possible and how i would lived with it after. Over the should I find is way to hight for a street car. I can understand if your car is for the track only, but if not, It will always be a gymnastique trick to crawl in and out of your car. and will look terrible. Sorry that i cant send you my picture of what mine looks, i need a scaner...
Other people have rollcages. they should post their pics soon
Good luck
