Need good cheep brakes

I need brakes for my GTA and I don't have the money for aftermarket high performance ones, do you have any recomendations? What do you think about Raybestos brakes?

I tried Raybestos "PG" semi-metallic pads and they're really squealy. No problems with performance on the street, just noisy.

If you're looking to keep the cost down, try Bendix. Advance Auto carries their stuff. I recently replaced the pads on my truck with Bendix stock replacements and they work great. Haven't tried them on my Z as I'm still running my high-buck Porterfield R4-S carbon-kevlar pads and love 'em.

I am kinda looking around at brakes (I will need to AT LEAST throw some new pads, and resurface my rotors by summer...). I have heard of Performance Friction brake pads - are these any good??? What do they run for? Would they be availible at the local AutoZone? thanks!

If you are looking for calipers, hoses and such email me. I bought new hoses, pads and had the rotors skimed over the summer. Email me if you are interested.

I love the Bendix semi-metallic pads... that's what I use. If you can find any coupons for on-line parts places ( http://www.expressautoparts.com comes to mind), maybe you can order all your stuff at once. When carparts.com was in the business of selling parts (before the JCWhitney merger), I searched yahoo.com for "carparts.com coupon". I found a "$50 off $100" online coupon code, and used it when I rebuilt my rear disc brakes. I paid $65 for $115 worth of stuff! (Brake cables, brake hoses, pads, rebuild kits, hardware, etc)

I just put a set of "Performance friction-Carbon metallic" front pads on this weekend for $30- at AutoZone. Feels like they have a lot of bite to 'em. Now I'm a little worried they may put a lot of wear on my rotors. They have a Lifetime Warr. and they seem to stop really good. The guy said if I wear them out I can come back for a new set. Has anyone heard anything good or bad about them ?

I've used them on several cars over the past 8 years or so, and I've been pretty happy with them.
They stop better than the standard stuff, don't cost alot, and have a good lifespan.

I wouldn't worry about wearing out your rotors. I've never had any problems with them.
