LCA relocation brackets- for G-Body Malibu/Monte?

No it's not an FBody question but I'd like to get an answer anyway, if I could. This is a popular mod on FBodies and I now have a need to do something similar on my 78 Malibu. But I don't know anyone who makes LCA relocation brackets for a G-body.

Anyone know of a place that does?

You might want to check if the F-body ones will work... it's a definite possibility.

Global West is about the only people I know of that might have something A- and G-car specific.

No dice. Tried them already.

I'll look into a modified set of F-Body brackets, but I'd like something built for the G-Body if at all possible.

Hey, Damon. I think I've seen you on the MonteCarloSS.com message board. I read a tech article on that site a while back that gives a spring/suspension part interchange list between F-bodies, G-bodies, and S-10's. One of the interchangeable pieces was the rear lower control arms, which made me wonder the same thing about the relocation brackets by Spohn. I just put a 3.70 8.5" posi rear in my malibu and SSM bars and Moroso trick springs along with it, so the relocation brackets weren't on the top of my S*%t t do list. Have you contacted Steve Spohn yet?

I love the g body, talk about cheap capable car that can do it all(and has a full frame). I've never seen them, but a couple of racing buddies say that adjustable upper arms and good or boxed lowers are all that are needed to make them hook up well. Just a little change in pinion angle makes a world of difference

That looks like what it's gonna be- adjustable uppers and beefed up lowers. I'd love to get the relocation brackets and beef up the suspension's anti-squat geometry but it doesn't appear anybody makes them.

Spohn's website does not list any LCA relocation brackets for a G-Body.

Yep, all you need is the adjustable upper arms. The effect of LCA relocation brackets won't be the same on a G-body--the rear suspension is different. The F-body transfers all the power through 2 control arms, the G-body has 4.

Like I said, Global West has all sorts of A & G body stuff. Definitely check there if you haven't already.

The effect on the 2 suspensions should be exactly the same. The 4-link creates the same issue with the lower control arms, in the same way, as these cars do. I've had Chevelles with wheel hop from hell, I wished I'd known at the time what to do about it. I have one that I'll be dealing with soon enough, a 69 SS396 convertible that belonged to my late little brother.

It's just a piece of 1/4" steel. Fabbing one up shouldn't be rocket science.

That's true too... if you had a way of doing a halfway neat bending and drilling and welding job, you could make some up yourself.
