larger brake cylinders
i was doing some digging around and found out our rear brake cylinderrs are only 3/4" bore, so I looked up cylinders for a 79 Nova 350 4bbl car and they are 15/16" bore with 9 1/2 x 2 brakes which is what drums size I have on my 84 Z28
my Q for anyone who may know before I compare these in hand before swapping is, aside from the line threads being SAE on the nova ones and mine being metric, would there be any other reason why i oculd upgrade to the larger cylinders ?
i also was offered a junk 81 bonneville tonight for parts and i believe it has 9 1/2" x 2 drums on it, and the guy says theyre new, and i need drums, so,,,, it may even use larger cylinders, could even rob thre backing plates and all off it, hmm it should have a 7.5" axle also, my aluminum drums are about dead from wear from the sounds of them grinding away as im cruising along
so what does anyone know about this or hwat has anyone done regarding this in the past ?
also i plan on using four primary shoes on the maro. instead of one primary and one secondary on each side, no such thing as too much brakes
