Aftermarket ABS??
Hey,
I have look around on the web and in a few racing parts catalogs and have not seen anything close to a abs.
If you have any sites if aftermarket ABS or ideas about salvaging an ABS from a crashed/totaled car please post them.
Thank you very much =)

From what i understand the amount of money and time you would have to put into it, its not worth it. I have thought about it but its better to just buy another car with it already there. Here are just a few parts... master cylinder, ABS controller, rear axle, front spindle/sensor assy, i am sure it uses the ECM, and the list goes on.
It would be great thing to do though.

...I seem to recall a seeing an A
"retrofit" deal that you installed in-line with the brake lines at the master cylinder. I think it added up to no more than a metered hydraulic pressure bleed off device.

You really want ABS? I'm glad my Camaro doesn't have it. IMO, it's for drivers that don't understand how brakes work. If I start to slide on some slick surface I will just ease of the brake a little bit. ABS is a good thing for those Soccer Moms that hammer the brakes even harder when they slide on snow--and wonder why they couldn't steer away from the light pole.
abs is nice, it keeps the car going straight ahead when the brakes are hit hard and also allows the drivers to steer during hard braking. admittedly, abs will actually increase stopping distances during certain circumstances such as stopping fast on gravel.
if retrofitting 4 wheel abs, you'd need to somehow put an exciter ring @each wheel and locate a sensor near it. would also need to change master cylinder, install a hydraulic control unit, rerun brake lines, and do a bunch of wiring.
adding abs to a thirdgen is probably not worth the money and time, would be much easier to buy a 4th gen instead.
