spindles or springs to lower??
Spindles are the best because they don't screw up the geometry like springs. If your springs and shocks are beat though, your crossmember will probably touch the road often with spindles. Their only downside is cost. Springs are much cheaper and offer great handling. The downside to them besides the geometry, if used with beat shocks and struts, you will be bouncing around and have a terrible ride. For the geometry issue, i think globalwest has a kit to correct the geometry on cars with lowering springs.
So basically you might change springs shocks and struts for both, but if you want the spindle, that price is added.

i lowered with spindles front (2") and springs rear (1.5") and it was definitely the way to go. you do have to realign, but as stated above, it wont mess with the factory geometry of the car.
its also considered the best way to lower a vehicle and the 'correct' way. everyone of my friends have lowered with spindles, but one. that's because he is on the ***** end.

Drop spindles. But you will need shorter tie rods and an alinement. If your going to the work might as well change out bushings, tie rods, pitman arm and struts.
well, all the existing parts are in good shape, however while everything is off and on the bench, i want to swap in some aftermarket shocks. what im thinking about now is spindles up front, and springs in the back. if i use the spindles, should i keep the stock springs, or get some kind of upgrades? will the car be too low? thanx
I have Bell Tech drop spindles, and I did not need shorter tie rods. Just an alignment. You are just relocating the wheel 2 inches higher, so I dont see how that should affect your tie rods.
The drop spindles WILL work with Baer Brakes. BUT....if you dont have the drop spindles already, you are better off ordering them from Baer Brakes. They build the entire spindle with their braking system on it, and they do not accept your old Bell Tech spindle for a core charge.
If you install Bell Tech drop spindles now, and then install Baer Brakes later, you are gonna end up with 2 pairs of drop spindles. That will just be a waste of money.
