Timing...

Ok I have the car running, idle sounds bumpy, just wondering what I should set my base timing at.

I have an edlebrock TBI intake, world s/r torquer 305s, and a zz4 cam installed.

Try setting it at 6, then go up 2 degrees until performance falls flat on it's face, then back off 2 degrees. It'll probably take you 4 or 5 runs in the 1/4 mile but look at mph not ET.
Any aftermarket heads and cam should need a custom eprom. If I were you guys I'd look into getting the $250 to burn your own eproms or go with a carb and mechanical dissy.

Mine ran best at 8* under the stock prom. But JPrevost is right, you will need a custom prom.

I have my setup (lt1 cam, vortec heads) at 10* advance, but I'm gonna back it off a little more to about 8 and see what happens. My *** really needs a prom

You should ask who made the chip what base timing you should be running. Whoever burnt the chip for you probably added a lot of timing to it.
