I have a L03 right now and would like to do something with it before summer is done.
here are your options......
option 1: rebuilt 305 w/Vortec heads and intake, with a 670 TBI unit and a Comp-u-cam of undecided lift and duration
option 2: rebuilt 305 w/ S/R Tourqer heads, Edelbrock TBI intake and 670 TBI unit and a used LT1 cam
option 3: Lo5 350, bone stock
the car already has 3.73's and a 3" exhaust, thanks for your vote guys!

KISS = keep it simple stupid
with a new engine you don't have to worry about what head and intake will fit after things have been milled, you don't need to consider different pushrod lengths............ etc.

Since the L03 is dying, dont spend money reviving it. Sink a very close ammount of money into a 350 and you will appreicate higher performance capability and better response to modifications in the future.

I agree......unless your shortblock does not need rebuilding...go with the 350.
The LO5 is an ez drop in that will require less work than getting all the parts together and building it....unless that's what you want. IE; to build it yourself. One of my son in law's is now wishing that he'd listened and he would be ready to install a new 350....instead he doesn't even have the shortblock together. And no time to finish. Parts everywhere but no torque in sight....
LOL
Plus they have different head and cam packages available on these types on engines for not much differance in price from what I can remember.
