i want to get about 275 horse, i have an 89 305 tbi, everything is stock, then only thing i plan doin now is getting flowmasters 40 series, thats it, i dont want NOS, Supercharger or a Turbocharger, just because they will cost me a lot to get and for installation.

 

i hate to throw this one out and sound hypocritical - but look around b/c the 305 is really popular on the boards for hop-ups. Personally, i dunno what you're looking at for time. If you're going to do a big build-up, you could go with a 350 - or a LT1 cam, roller rockers, higher compression, and a balanced bottom end. Aside from that, modifying the TBI is a real good spot to start (can you say open element?) - either the Ultimate TBI Mods or the 670 Holley TBI would be the hot ticket i say. (I've got a pal who built a decent 'little' 400 and he's feeding it with a stock truck computer and the 670 cfm TBI from holley and the truck runs nice even with the STOCK 305 throttle bores and intake (Yea, that's what i said).
