They do physically fit. I have been trying to find out if the ECM will control them without a problem or without a new chip being made. I know it would be possible if you were to burn your own chip but I havent seen anybody that has done it. If you go ahead and try it please post the results.

They are the same size.

If you burn you're own PROMs then it's real easy. All you have to do is adjust the BPW constant for the larger injectors. I've done it twice now with no problems.

Note: larger injectors do not automatically = more power. It would be a waste of money/time unless you NEED them.

ok.. well I thought if I put the bigger injectors with the custom chip that edelbrock sent me with my heads won't they put out more fuel without customizing the chip?

The problem is that just changing the injectors will add more fuel all the time. If your running lean all the time you might be ok but I think you'll wind up running too rich. Now with some chip tuning this might not be a problem.

yeah that's the problem. More gas does not automatically = faster. The custom chip from Edelbrock may be "custom" but it's not calibrated for the big injectors.

Think of it this way. Lets just guess that a 350 injector will flow 1 gram of fuel in 1 msec (I know it's not right but just as an example). If you put the 454 injectors in then they will flow 4 grams of fuel in 1 msec. The ECM will not know how to compensate for that big of a change.

In short...the PROM has to be calibrated for the proper size injector.

people need to get off this "richer=hp" kick

in fact, in my experience i find more often than not that richer = slower

with so many tuning chicken littles telling me "rich! if you go lean youll blow your motor! etc" I spent a year and a half running around with what must have been a wot air fuel ratio of 10 to one thinking MUST still be lean because the car ran so crappy. A rich afr will slow the hell out of your car and make it run like ****
