Now I'm glad I did it!
Finally, I got a chance to set the timing correctly (ie w/ESC wire disconnected). I'm leaving it at 8deg right now -- I opened her up on the highway and OMG! It's very nice to feel it pulling hard all the way to redline (where I pussed out and shifted
).
All that work feels worth it now. The camshaft swapping bit, other than the PITA reinstalling the timing cover w/lots of RTV, was actually easier than putting in the new valve springs/stem seals...
I'll see y'all in jail, after they arrest me for going 100 mph all the time now (on accident) :lala:

tbi305,
Definitely a very big high-end difference from the combo (intake/cam w/new stiffer springs). I'm giving most of the credit to the cam, but I'm sure the new intake is adding quite a bit to the equation. I just turned over 102,000... if you're taking good care of the engine, I wouldn't be too concerned at 107,000, if that's what you meant. Then again, a 350 (or 383!) will give you more power and if it's new or rebuilt, you won't have to worry about longevity at all (but you can't beat the price of an LT1 cam swap!).
Later.

That's pretty cool. Good job.
I was going to do a LT1 cam swap in my '92, but I got an offer I just couldn't refuse...
I think I sold my cam to a board member, actually.
In any event...cool...just watch that speed...just keep doing heavy 0-65's so they can't say anything...
