Tbi 383????????

OK....now i know this is kinda the wrong place to ask this question, btu this is the only place i have found which might be of help. So here we go. I have a 1989 350 TBI chevy p/u with 4sp aod. I am in the process of completly building the motor up.I would like ya'lls opinion on everything possible. So far i have purchased a 383 stroker kit with 5.7 rods with 9.5.1 compression. I will be running some ported & polished vortec heads off a 98 chevy with 2.02 intake and 1.60 exh.(i will also be running a comp extreme energy cam...dont know which one yet!) Now my question for you guys is what fuel system would ya'll recommend for this combo? I want run 13.??? n/a @4600#'s and stay TBI. Is this possible? What problems will i run into with the cpu?(i live in houston ...so getting a dyno burned chip is no prob.) Holley says their 670 cfm only supports 275 hp. What intake do I need also to match the later heads yet also be compatable with my fuel set up? I am low on $$$$ after the 383 swap so if their is nothing out there cheap enough I that will support my HP level "SAFELY" I will have to go carb. PLs help me......I am stumped!!!!!THX

P.S any links to other sites would also help!!!!!

those heads make it tricky finding a good TBI intake setup for your truck let alone a proven setup. If you could get a MPFI setup it would be cool. Check out fast_broker's posts. I think he set it up for a good price. GM has a TBI vortec intake but its for the stock TBI size.

eledbrock makes a victor series vortec intake, that with a TBI adapter and a 670 holley. jprevost runs his 330 horse motor with a 670 holley TB.

Yea, Edelbrock has a few choices for vortec manifolds. Victor Junior, Performer Vortec, and Performer RPM vortec. I got the performer rpm (1500-6500), but I probably shoulda only got the Performer (idle-5500). Oh well, live and learn.

Thanks for the advice guys! I am new to the TBI game.(Modded mostly fox stangs) But , I am still nervous about the fuel set up! I have donea searched on this forum and am still confused as to what cfm t/b and # injectors is needed. I understand I will need an edelbrock vortec intake(or eqiv.) and adapter. I want to run 13's on 4600#.(with slicks, a stall, and allready preped tranny...of course!) Somebody step up and throw some more facts and figures at me. I want to get it right the first time......thx............."E"

With a 3800lb weight(car and driver) it will get you to 13.5's with a 2.0 60' time. Couldn't tell you how bad the extra weight will slow you down.
