Does the ECM naturally get warm? I'm assuming with all the electronics it does. Any help greatly appreciated HOMETOWNS.... CHEVYTOWN

probably not... Its soooo sloooow and antiquated that it wont generate alot of heat by itself. However, excess heat in the cabin and the elements will kill it.

The age of the equipment has little to do with heat. The ecm uses it's case (just like every other known car computer) as it's heatsink. All the power transistors are secured to the shell so yes, it should get pretty warm.
