89rs vs 91rs

i have a 89rs and a 91rs. the 89 is a auto and the other a stick. when i first start the 89, the idle is at 1500 then after a while drops to 500 when it is warm. my 91 starts and is at 1000. but doesn't drop. is this because of the chip. if i swap chips will the idle be switched from cars. or will a auto chip not work in a stick.

Sorry but the chip wont work, because the one is an auto and the other is a stick. Plus the year model is different too what you need to do is just order one from HYPERTECH or have some one burn a custom one the one from hyper tech is about 125.00 plus you will need to buy a fan switch that will make your fan kick on at and eailer temp.

Man, don't waste your money on a hypertech chip- I bought the thermomaster and it did nothing but eat more gas. The reason the idle is different is because the characteristics between a standard and auto idle are different. Even if you did buy the hypertech chip for your 5-speed, the idle characteristics would be the same, as the only thing they change in those chips is the air/fuel ratio and a little timing.
