Whats the differance?

Ok i was looking around a bit and found that the 305 tbi in 91 1500 chevy's was rated at 175hp and 270ftlbs of torque. I was wondering what was the differance? Cam, heads, exaust, ecu, what? I mean if its just one or two parts it might be a cheap way to grab a bit more power (not much, but a fair amount of torque.)

Where did you get those numbers from? All the numbers I've seen for L03's in the trucks and cars are the same.

Auto trader had em. The hp is not worth worrying about but the torque would be nice to have if the number is right.

I know that the trucks have swirl port heads, they make alright tourque, as far as stock heads go. As for the 305 in cars I don't have a clue if they have swirl ports.

The L03 in the truck, F-body and Caprice are identical. The only difference is the trucks utilize a flat tappet camshaft. Everything else is the same. Every hp and tq rating I've come across for the L03 is the same.

Thanks, just seeing if there was anything that could be cheaply bought and swapped.

What about the TBIs. Would an air cleaner from a TBI truck fit one of our cars?

Yeah around the TBI it would fit, but the air cleaner from the trucks are slightly taller, I think it would cause interference with the hood. I cant say for sure because I've never tried to fit one, but just from looking it looks like it would be tight.

I was thinking about fabricating my own ram air / cold air intake. Using something like this.
