Where do the injectors get power from?

I swapped my 92 TBI into my 87 camaro which came from the factory with the LG4 carbed engine. I am using the 92 TBI engine harness and the 87 dash harness. I just realized that the injectors each have there own fuse, and since the 87 was carbed it wouldn't have needed the fuses for the injectors.

So I need some help here. Can someone show me a picture of the wiring of the injector circuit, or tell me how it is wired up? How can I make this work with what I have? There are some empty places in my fuse block that could possibly serve as a spot for the injector fuses. Any thoughts

Wish I could help you but at least I can recommend not buying the Haynes Repair Manual to solve this problem. It is very sparse with regards to wiring diagrams.

Injectors get power from a key on "ign" source and have a 10 amp? fuse. For example, the pink wire that goes to the distributor would is the same source. I wouldn't use it though because I think it only has a 10 amp fuse and it's already juicing up the coil. Another wire to the fuse box to an "ign" source with a fuse would be ideal. BTW, the ecm also needs an "ign" source and that can be shared from the injector wire. I imagine the LG4 ecm had a wire there for that anyhow, but just so you know.

Forgot to add the diagram. Connect the red and white injector wires together. They're the same

I would try to obtain the complete wiring diagrams for both specific model years of cars and engines before you push onward. Looking at what little Haynes does have, there was, for example, a change in the engine control system for the 1990 5.0 & 5.7 TPI where the injector driver wire colors changed from light green and light blue to dark green and dark blue (other items as well). I know you are swapping a TBI but it seems likely that the TBI driver colors would follow suit (?).

Since the swap you are performing spans this change (92 into an 87), you should be very cautious. It could also be that despite equivalent connectors being used, the order of wires in those connectors is different. Remember, it is very easy to damage electronic components.

Thanks for the help guys. I will be resuming work on it this weekend, and will be able to give an update then. I didn't realize it was going to be such a hassle to do this swap, but I am so far in it will get finished.
