Ultimate TBI mods question.

How will the untimate TBI mods affect gas mileage? I would like to do them and get a throttle body spacer and injector spacers.

If anything, youll see a slight increase in gas mileage with the spacers.

What about porting and polishing the throttle body. Will that do anything to gas mileage?

Only if you keep the foot in it all the time. Under the same conditions the ultimate TBI will get the same or better gas mileage.

I'm pretty light footed. So it sounds like they will do me some good.

I got all that heavy foot stuff out of me when I was younger.

I don't know about gas mileage, but it definately smoothed out my idle and a power gain was noticeable (not like hitting the NAAAAAWWWWSSSS (I know it's nitrous)). I don't have my TBI Spacer on yet, but my injector spacer went in with the Ultimate TBI mods

Tony,

How difficult were the TBI mods and the injector spacer to do?

I am a very mechanically minded person, but I have a tendency to rush into things. For this I just took my time and followed the steps. I completely dissassembled the throttle body (I bought a rebuild kit) and with the injector pod off, I used a bench grinder to take down the ridges around the bores. Then I used a dremel to take them down to the casting and when they were fairly smooth I used sand paper to finish it. All in all it was very easy, considering I had never rebuilt a carb/throttle body before. If I had to do it again, I might have gone a little slower because I did scratch the bore with the dremel once (it's not even noticeable). All in all it was very easy, just get a rebuild kit from Autozone. While you're at it, you might as well get a VAFPR or make your FPR adjustable (I didn't, I still have my VAFPR sitting in my dorm room).

Good luck

I don't think you will find too many people on here who don't praise the Ultimate mods. My gas mileage has suffered due to heavy foot syndrome, but it I feel it well worth the time to do it. Mine even developed a high pitched whistle after finishing the porting, and it sounds pretty interesting driving through town. kids in their Honda's don't know what to think!
