A few questions about milling my heads..

I want to get more compression out of my car. So I was going to mill my heads. I just bought a set of heads from a 96 350, They are not lt1 heads they are standard centerbolt heads, they have springs and new valves in them, they have about 5k on them since the springs, hot tank, and valve job. I want to pull the valves, port the **** out of the heads, and have them cleaned and milled. I'm just worried if I mill them the valves with hit??? Are the stock pistons fly notched??? How much can I mill the heads without the worry of them hitting the pistons. It has new springs that can handle up to .530 lift. The cam I'm using has .4545 and should be around .490 with 1.6's. I'd still be using the stock lenght pushrods, right?

Sorry, my other motor is a OHC...

My Vortecs are milled .020 and im running a head gasket thats .015 compressed with no problems. Hod rod had their Vortecs milled .040 with no problems using the same head gasket, with a cam that was about .480 lift if I remember, so you should be ok with .040.
