What is that ?? pic
It looks like its connected to the coolant temperature sensor...
There are 3 places you can read the temperature from, the intake manifold like there(where the ecm gets its reading), the drivers side between cylinder 1 & 3(where the dash gets its reading) and finally the passenger side(where the fan switch gets its reading).
I guess someone decided that it would be good to get the reading from the intake since that's the same one the ecm is reading.

Evertthing works great ( gauge , fan )
What You see , it looks like home made work ? I saw few tbi engines and nobody have something like this. I want back to factory setup . How to do it ?

First figure out what those 2 extra wires are connected to before you go re-arranging that setup.
Normally there is a 2 wire connector leading to the wiring harness which is the ECM's temperature sensor.
The smaller brass connector should be able to be removed and then connected directly to the manifold instead of the large "thing".
Next is to figure out where those other connectors go as the dash guage is connected to a single wire temperature sensor on the driver's side head.

Mmm, Slade:
My 2.8 V6 has two coolant temperature sensors: One (big) in the intake manifold; the other (small) in the head.
I did some tests and the reading were different between the dash and the scanner (dash was bigger than the scanner). What is the right reading or temperature signal in order to protect the engine for overheating?.
Thanks in advance for the reply,
Denis V.
