Got complete TBI from '95 Z71
Today I picked up a complete (except for the wiring harness which he will send me as soon as it is removed from the truck) TBI setup from a '95 Z71 pickup. I got the intake manifold, 670cfm throttle body w/ 350 injectors, distributor, and the CPU. What, if anything, do I need to swap this stuff onto my LO3? Also, is the distributor the same as my LO3s? What about the CPU? Is my wiring harness the same? Thanks!
i woudl think they woudl use the same wiring harness for both. there may be a change in a sensor or soem thing here and there, but that is about it.
i can't imagine GM changed much.

Well, upon closer examination, it looks like I didn't get the 670cfm TB
. Those were only stock on 454s, right? The TB looks exactly like my LO3s. Do the LO5 injectors flow more than the LO3s? The intake manifold is a bit taller and hopefully flows more cfm than the LO3. The ECM also didn't have the Hypertech chip in it (as I was told it did) however I've heard that aftermarket performance chips are crap anyway and that the only way to go is custom burning.

If it's really a 95 then you won't be able to use most if any of the stuff you got. The intake is exactly the same. The TB is exactly the same. The injectors might not even be bigger than the standard 350's because in those last couple years the fuel pressure was near 30psi. And lastly, the ECM isn't an ECM, it's a PCM which controls the tranny. You can't really use this unless you program your own eproms. I doubt it'll run well in your car since it was designed for a huge heavy vehicle with high fuel pressure and an electronic tranny. I just started programming a 95 suburban and from the looks of it you could easily adapt it to run on an f-body. Only trouble is getting a hold of the complete wiring harness, electronic tranny, and bumping up the fuel pressure.
If you don't end up using the pcm, let me know through e-mail. I've got a friend that can get me a 4L60e exchanged for like $200. I wouldn't mind putting something like this into an f-body. Oh yeah, and the PCM is the last year for OBDI and it's got the faster baud update speed.
