I6-250 carb -> TBI

No, this isn't for me.
I was brainstorming this conversion and it occured to me that the best choice (for sticking with GM TBI) would be to use the 7747 ECM out of a fullsize C/K that originally had a 4.3L V6 installed.

The installation is in an 83 Chevy C10 w/ a 250 I6 and this EFI setup may have to eventually bolt up to a 292 (I6). One of the problems that I thought of was knock sensor compatibility. I realize the simplest approach is to disable that part of the ECM through EPROM burning but I think a knock sensor circuit is a nice thing to have. What type of knock sensor would work with a 250 or 292?

Also, how would we work in a GM HEI setup? I'd imagine some machining may be in order, but that's not a problem.

I have no idea what the cam selection would be, but I can probably guess mild. Does anybody have any input on this project?

There are several people on the www.diy-efi.org that have done that very swap. You can modify the distributor to run the electronic stuff and they use the knock sensor in the engine.
