Tach bouncing all over under constant throttle

I went to change my timing today and took it from 11 to 8, but afterwards I drove it and instead of a smooth acceleration, the tach bounces from like 1.5k to 2, then back down to 1.75ish, then back up to 2.25, etc etc... fuel pressure stayed the same.

I disconnected the computer advance when I set the timing, and its connected now. I put the timing back to 11 and its still going nuts just the same.

Any suggestions please?

Thanks

Does it only happen when the car is warm? Does the car jerk with the tack?

I had a problem similar to this it ended up being a loose wire. I would go back and look behind the distributor for anything you may have knocked loose.

Yea, the car bounces all over with the tach. Ive ran it when it was cold and when it was warm, no difference

Heh, just when you think you got the problems ironed out... ah the joys of building a car...
