broken TBI injector terminal

while reinstalling my air filter, i broke the clips on one of the electrical terminals that hold it to the top of the injector. looking at the wiring, i don't see an easy way to replace it w/out cutting & splicing somewhere. is this right? anyone know how much that part is? (i assume GM only...) thank goodness for zip ties!

I recommend against splicing in a new connector. The wire is some strange stuff. Hard teflon insulation that is difficult to strip, then the wire itself is a hard nickle based alloy. It tends to break at the splice after some run time (vibration).

Now for the fix: get a decent junkyard connector set and swap just the housing. The terminals are easily removable from the housing. I don't have one here but if you look at one there is a cover that flips over and clips into place where the wires exit the housing. Unclip this first.

Then I believe there is a barb on the actual connector terminal. Press that in and the terminal will slide out of the housing.

RBob.

P.S. just watch out for the ones that have caught fire and have melted! Vans & Astro vans also use the TBI.
