Open air takes from the bottom but...
I just installed a Summit Flat bottom 14X3" open air on my '89 IROC L03. It seems to have have taken power from the bottom end but added to the mid and top. I would say around 3 grand I can feel a difference. Below 3 Grand I feel like there was a bit of a loss of power.
The Vacuum is capped at the TBI and the IAT sensor is in place in the bottom of the new air cleaner. Any thoughts on how to get the bottom end back without breaking the bank?

btw, i noticed more power across the whole power band, but especialy at high RPMs.
my guess is that, you engine was getting all the air it needed at the low RPMs, but was starving out up high, and the open element gave it the air it needed up high, and that is why you notice the gain in the upper RPMs
